Born with a number of genetic abnormalities, the cat with a cut lip was doomed to die on the street when he lost his mother's care - his mother died. However, a happy accident intervened in the kitten’s life: he was discovered by volunteers and taken to the veterinary university. Smush's savior was veterinarian Lindsay Hidenrieth, whose efficiency and professionalism led to the cat quickly recovering.
