Siamese cat. Description, features, types, character, care and price of the Siamese breed

Description and features

In the southeastern part of Asia is the ancient state of Thailand, formerly called Siam. This is where an amazing creature comes from - the Siamese cat . In the old days, in those distant lands, it was endowed with a special status, considered sacred and lived only in the palaces of rulers, temples and families of high priests.

The body of such short-haired pussies still surprises with its ideal proportions and elegant perfection of lines. Their high intelligence is admirable, and the proud disposition of graceful creatures and love of freedom do not at all prevent them from showing affectionate love and open affection for their owner.

When describing the characteristic external features of the breed, the following should be mentioned:

  • flexible, long, thin body;
  • head extended forward in a wedge shape;
  • large erect ears, wide at the bottom and tapering at the top to pointed tips;
  • located geometrically perfectly, in the form of a regular triangle, the tops of the ears and the nose;
  • the slanted eyes of Siamese cats with an iris of an unforgettable, bright bluish-blue or turquoise hue;
  • graceful long legs with neat paw pads;
  • a thin, whip-like tail with a sharp end.

Most often, such pussies are born completely white in color. But over time, their short, close-fitting fur, emphasizing its stunning flexible shape, changes its shades somewhat. In the classic version, it remains mostly white, while it darkens on the muzzle and in the ear area, in the same way the color on the legs undergoes changes, which is especially noticeable in their lower part, and the tail is covered with almost completely black hair.

Eyes of rich blue color are the most striking distinctive feature of the Siamese cat.

A similar contrasting (point) color, more precisely called a color point, appears more and more brightly in cats after six months. But as pussies mature, it changes again because the previously white parts of the body also begin to gradually darken.

Representatives of the Siamese breed are small in size; females usually do not weigh more than 4 kg. And cats, although they are certainly larger than cats, almost never gain weight over 7 kg. On average, males weigh about 5 kg.

The special craving of these pussies for vocal communication with others is interesting. They meow loudly, and are capable of uniquely changing the pitch of their voice and its tonality. All this resembles a conversation. Similarly, extremely intelligent cats often try to express their feelings and convey their demands to their owners.

What age is best to take

The kitten is not separated from its healthy mother for at least two months: during this time, it drinks its mother’s milk, rich in antibodies, and strengthens its immunity. Early (at 1 month) separation from a cat is fraught with stress, which negatively affects the health of babies. It is preferable to select a Scottish Fold in the range from 3 to 9 months, in the so-called adolescence. At this time, the “Scots” become long-legged, slightly awkward and stretched out, like all teenagers: against this background, the breed’s shortcomings clearly appear.

If by this age the baby still has large ears, a loose undercoat and a thin tail, do not entertain the illusion that the ears will shrink, the undercoat will grow, and the tail will become shorter and thicker. An exemplary “teenage” Scottish Fold has a thick muzzle, powerful paws, small neat ears, “stuffed” hair and a not particularly long tail.

Kinds

The color features and structural details are well demonstrated in the photo of the Siamese cat . Moreover, it should be remembered that there are many color options. And the differences mainly lie in the shades of the points, that is, in the prominent areas of intense color.

A seal point with a dark brown, almost black tint is considered common and classic, and purebred Siamese beauties often have blue, lilac, chocolate, and in some cases other shades of points.

Now let's look at modern varieties descended from ancient, truly Siamese cats. And there are enough of them, and some of them, previously classified as the described breed, have recently acquired independent status.

  • The Balinese (Balinese cat) is one of the varieties of such pussies, which appeared in the USA approximately in the 30s of the last century and was officially recognized in 1963. A characteristic feature of its representatives is semi-long hair, in contrast to the classic short one. This fur is silky and thin. He, like most other Siamese beauties, has no undercoat. The longest hair is on the tail, but it becomes shorter towards the head. Otherwise, in character and color, such cats do not differ from classic Siamese.

  • Burma (Burmese cat) is a breed that originated from crossing a Siamese cat with a chocolate cat brought from Burma, recognized in 1936. The fur of such pussies is soft, thick, and short. Distinctive features of the Burmese from the classic Siamese relatives are: a less graceful, but very athletic, muscular body; more rounded head; golden, expressive eyes that change shade depending on the degree of lighting; large chin; developed neck; strong paws; fluffy tail. The unique coat colors of these cats are famous for their unique beauty. Among them: platinum, chocolate, sable, cream, tortoiseshell and others.

  • The Himalayan variety originated from two breeds: Siamese and Persian. Curiously, it was released simultaneously in two countries: the USA and England. And the fluffy Siamese cat in the middle of the last century. The fur of such pussies is really not short at all, but long and shaggy, with a good undercoat. But what has been preserved from the Siamese ancestors are amazing bright blue eyes and contrasting point coloring.

  • Javanese (Javanese cat) is a relatively young variety, bred in North America. Such cats are close relatives of the Balinese. Their coat is also of medium length, but the main difference from their relatives is the color. Among the Javanese, not only the points have become more diverse, but other, completely unusual and original colors have appeared, delighting with new shades. These cats are classified as oriental. There is also a short-haired variety of Siamese from the same group, only these are no longer Javanese. These Orientals are adorned with their satiny, shiny short fur.

  • The Thai Siamese cat is the most ancient of all varieties, now separated into an independent breed. Moreover, such pussies are called Old Siamese. This alone suggests an idea: it is still unknown who descends from whom. But what is more important here is that Thai beauties, judging by ancient descriptions, are very similar to the Siamese of bygone centuries. They are more powerful, less graceful, their heads are rounder, their ears are noticeably different in shape.

Raising a Siamese

As already mentioned, Siamese are smart and savvy. Therefore, accustoming them to a lifestyle that is convenient for you is not so difficult, but this must be done from an early age. The caregiver will have to be patient and find an approach to a pet with an independent character.

Sleeping area

In order to grow and get stronger, a small kitten needs a lot of sleep. The resting place must meet the needs of the animal:

  • The main condition for a kitten to feel comfortable is warmth. Therefore, the place should be far from drafts, but it should not be located close to heating appliances in winter;
  • cats love secluded places, so observe where the kitten most often likes to fall asleep (but not in the owner’s bed);
  • cats, even when immersed in slumber, are constantly on the alert, so from their hiding place the animal must be able to observe the surrounding space.

A place to rest can be equipped in a wicker basket, lining it inside with a warm blanket or in a cardboard box, having previously covered it with soft fabric. In specialized stores you can purchase ready-made soft houses for cats.

You need to prepare a cozy and comfortable place for your baby.

Toilet training

A naturally clean Siamese can be quickly trained to relieve his natural needs in one, specially designated place. But for this you need to prepare a container, preferably plastic (it is easy to clean) and filler. The kitten may not like containers with bars, because from birth he has an inherent need to bury his waste products. If you don’t clean and wash the tray in time, the little neat guy will find another place for himself, and perhaps more than one.

By the way, about the place for the tray. It should be as comfortable as possible for the kitten. It is advisable to select a secluded place, closed from prying eyes, and the animal should have free access to it. As soon as you notice that your baby is looking for a place to relieve himself, immediately take him to the litter box and leave him there. After the kitten has successfully completed the task, be sure to praise him. And do this every time, developing a reflex in the animal. And positive emotions will only accelerate the habit.

Don't forget to regularly clean and disinfect not only the tray, but also the area where the cat's litter box is located.

If you teach a Siamese to order from an early age, there will be no problems.

Hygiene procedures

From an early age, teach your baby to hygiene procedures. But first, teach him not to be afraid of your touch. Stroke the animal, but do not make sudden movements. A pet that is accustomed to being groomed will not have the desire to scratch or bite you during treatment.

How to deal with bad habits

The wayward Siamese has a lot of bad habits that you have to overcome. But first you need to calm the animal down. In the first days of being in a new environment, he may behave restlessly and meow constantly. This is understandable, because he was separated from his mother, and the baby does not yet understand where he ended up. Your task is to remind your pet as often as possible that he is in caring hands. To do this, pet your baby more often and speak kind words to him.

If your cat wakes you up in the morning with frantic screams demanding food, then try to wean him off this in the following way. Do morning feeding not when you get out of bed, but before leaving for work. This will require patience and time. But very soon the Siamese will become accustomed to the new regime, and he will sleep peacefully in the morning.

A Siamese may also complain due to lack of attention to his person. Therefore, think about whether you are paying enough attention to your pet. After all, for its active energy there must be a way out. Find free time to play with your cat, this will only strengthen your bond.

If you pay little attention to your pet, he begins to entertain himself

Sharpening the claws of Siamese, just like other cats, is a physiological need. Therefore, at first, try to cover upholstered furniture with covers and raise the curtains higher. Carefully observe where your tomboy most often performs this procedure. This is where you will install the scratching post. You can buy it at a pet store or build it yourself by attaching a plastic pipe to the base and wrapping it with thick rope.

In addition to instilling useful skills in your child, you yourself should serve as a role model. Do not throw clothes anywhere, put shoes on shelves, and do not leave leftover food on the table. If there is no temptation, the Siamese will not do any mischief. And most importantly, training should always end with encouragement. And your screams or spanks will not end well.

History of the breed

The exact time of birth of the Siamese breed is impossible to establish due to its antiquity. It is only known that references to its remarkable representatives are found in ancient manuscripts from the heyday of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya, which existed on the territory of modern Thailand during the Middle Ages.

Similar records were kept for a long time in one of the most famous Buddhist temples. On sheets of mulberry tree bark, ancient monks wrote about remarkably beautiful white kitties with black ears, muzzle, tail and paws, as sacred creatures that bring good luck.

These cats were considered so valuable that taking them outside the state was punishable by death, and not everyone could have them in their home. Perhaps that is why the European world was able to learn about the Siamese only at the end of the 19th century, after the English ambassador received a wonderful pair of Asian miracle creatures as a gift from the eastern ruler.

By the way, not everyone liked the Siamese cat breed right away. Some experts and journalists, after the first public exhibition established in 1872, even considered these cute pussies extremely ugly. Apparently, they just turned out to be very different from the usual European cats.

But then they saw the Siamese and fell in love with them. And they received well-deserved recognition at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Around this time, Asian pussies began to spread to the New World. Over the past century, Siamese cats have become favorite pets of presidents, famous musicians, writers and actors.

Where can I buy

You can buy a Siamese kitten in Moscow from one of the nurseries:

  1. "Sharess-Ori" (cattery of Oriental and Siamese cats);
  2. "Salambo" (oriental and Siamese cattery);
  3. "Marsiori" (oriental cattery).

You can choose the baby you like among the ads on Avito or use. Of course, in this case it will be difficult to find a purebred kitten with a pedigree, although there are exceptions - for example, if the owners move to another country and cannot take their pet with them, it will be very important for them that it ends up in good hands.

If it is not the pedigree that is important to you, but the point color, this is a good choice. But you must be prepared for the fact that the kitten you choose is only half Siamese. As he grows up, he may become aggressive, and you will have to make a lot of effort to correct his character.

Character

Since ancient times, in their homeland, Siamese cats were entrusted with the honorary duties of keeping the peace of the houses of high-ranking persons and temples. And this is no coincidence, because these miracle animals are extremely smart, and in terms of intelligence they surpass many of their relatives. The modern owner of such pets has every opportunity to instill in them the desired behavioral skills, even train them, since they are easy to train, understand and assimilate everything perfectly.

Siamese cats quickly learn to be orderly, and also get along well with housemates of any age, get along well with children, do not show aggression and do not try to scratch and bite without reason.

Siamese perform many commands and tricks no worse than trained dogs. But still, like other cats, they are largely on their own minds, they feel their influence on the owner and try to use it for their own purposes. And their wonderful, multifaceted, strong voice, multifaceted in the number of conveyed shades, helps them convey their moods and demands to their two-legged patrons.

It should be remembered that despite the generally docile nature, it is quite possible to encounter vindictiveness, selfishness and rancor in such pets. This shows the character of the Siamese cat . It is also in their nature to skillfully catch mice. But they cannot stand dogs and treat them with arrogant contempt.

When kittens start to get dark

All Siamese kittens are born albinos, but after a week characteristic spots begin to appear, by six months it becomes clear what the main color of a Siamese kitten is, and by the 10th month all shades are finally formed.

Dark shades appear on the paws, tail, ears and face. With age, the contrast intensifies.

Nutrition

Without a doubt, the quality of feeding greatly affects the health of the pussy and its lifespan. And it seems that the diet of the Siamese is no different from the menu of other representatives of the cat tribe. However, these unique creatures often show their whims in food, are picky and evaluate the quality of the dishes served, like real gourmets. Therefore, owners have to find an individual approach to them, taking into account the tastes of such pets and showing patience.

The main products required include:

  • lean meat, boiled and cut into small pieces;
  • among by-products, pets may like the udder, lungs, heart, liver;
  • fish is a very favorite product among the Siamese, but it should only be served, without abuse, no more than twice a week;
  • boiled yolk, full of vitamins, can be very useful;
  • porridges from various cereals are not always well received, but are still introduced into the diet to diversify the menu;
  • greens and vegetables are important, but in small quantities due to the food habits of the Siamese;
  • Dairy products are healthy, but fresh milk is best given only to kittens.

If a picky purr stubbornly refuses all this, then ready-made, high-quality super-premium food can save you. However, experts do not recommend mixed nutrition, because the stomach of these creatures is very delicate, and therefore it is better for it to adapt to a specific type of feeding.

Siamese cat kittens are born completely white

Price

There are many nurseries selling British fold kittens in Russia; finding a pet is not a problem. The breeder must provide the buyer with a veterinary passport and information about the kitten’s parents.

If prices for a purebred “Scottish” cat reach 50 thousand rubles, then a British kitten is much cheaper, because this fold-eared cat is an unrecognized breed. For a British fold kitten they ask from 1000 to 5000 rubles.

The lop-eared “British” is loyal, affectionate, playful, and behaves with dignity. Although he cannot participate in exhibitions and competitions, since his breed does not officially exist, he will become a wonderful companion for a lonely elderly person and a friend for a large family.

Reproduction and lifespan

Breeding such pussies is not difficult these days. It is possible to select enough partners for your beloved pet, the most important thing is to do this competently, taking into account breed standards and their changes, as well as the individual characteristics of the animal itself. Since a creative approach is required in this matter, if you do not have sufficient experience, it is better to seek recommendations from a trustworthy club.

When mating with Siamese, it is also important how well the animals themselves can get along with each other. After all, here a meeting between a pair of partners can not only be fruitless, moreover, communication sometimes takes place with shocks for the animals and even often ends in a fight.

And therefore, when mating, the help of instructors is highly desirable and their advice is necessary. For an inexperienced cat, it is better to choose a cat who has already had sexual experience. And even in this case, in order for his courtship to become fruitful, sometimes it is necessary to leave the couple in quiet solitude, providing all the conditions for the partners, for a period of up to three days.

If the meeting is successful, within 24 hours the cat becomes pregnant, lasting about 65 days. And its signs are lack of appetite and lethargy. The most suitable period for gestation for a female occurs at the age of a year or one and a half.

Although estrus can come much earlier, and signs of it can become an unpleasant surprise already at four months of age. But little cats are not yet capable of becoming full-fledged mothers; they need to grow up. When a mature, healthy pregnancy occurs, owners should protect their pet from stress and overfeeding.

Siamese cat kittens are often born in a large group, since representatives of this breed are usually fertile. Therefore, the number of cubs, especially if the brood is not the first, can reach up to 13 pieces.

Such pussies are in good health and live a relatively long time, in most cases - at least ten years. There are also known precedents for longevity, when Siamese reached the age of 20 years or more. It is believed that if you castrate a cat, it will prolong its life in this world.

How to choose a pet

Having an animal in the house is a big responsibility. Therefore, do not act rashly, but carefully weigh the pros and cons:

  • can you provide the animal with normal living conditions, because active Siamese require more free space for movement;
  • will you have enough time to communicate with the animal, because if you don’t pay attention to the Siamese, the animal will grow up withdrawn and possibly unfriendly;
  • does any family member have allergies;
  • If there is a small child in the family, then buying a Siamese kitten is not recommended, as it can only harm both kids, because the kitten can get scared and scratch the child.

Before getting a Siamese kitten, think carefully about whether you have enough patience and time to make friends with the owner of a difficult character. After all, kittens are just charming, but an adult cat is a completely different matter. This is an individuality to be reckoned with. But if your heart is captured by this breed, then before choosing a baby you need to decide on the following questions.

Siamese kittens are very active and require a lot of attention.

For business or for the soul

If you want to engage in breeding, be sure to inquire about the kitten’s pedigree and do not purchase an animal with obvious defects. But if you are purchasing for the soul, then be guided by the appearance of the parents and the feelings that arise at the sight of the baby.

Cat or kitty

This fact is important, because cats and female cats have different temperaments and exteriors. Cats are more independent and freedom-loving; they are real bullies, often using their claws. They consider those around them to be service personnel, they like to poke their noses everywhere and do not tolerate prohibitions. If a cat is bought for the hobby, many cat owners advise castrating it. This will soften bullying and relieve other behavioral problems. Moreover, the procedure is less traumatic for the male than for the female. In addition, many believe that seals are more beautiful than cats and have more impressive sizes.

Kitties are calmer and more affectionate. They become very attached to their owner and show their feelings towards him in every possible way, trying to win his favor. They are also very clean. But problems arise during puberty. The instincts for procreation are so strong that it is impossible to suppress them through psychological influence. Therefore, either you will have to look for a groom, or sterilize the animal.

The Siamese cat will claim leadership in the family

Health

You need to buy kittens, of course, in nurseries or at exhibitions. When buying a baby, you don’t have to worry about his health or pedigree. But just in case, examine the kitten and make sure there are no traces of dandruff in the fur or wounds on the skin. Activity is another indicator of health. In addition, you can get to know his parents better, which is a useful experience, since their genetic characteristics will certainly be passed on to their offspring.

Siamese have good health, so they are long-lived. The average age of the breed is from 15 to 20 years. But there are often cats whose age has exceeded this threshold.

Age

Many people prefer kittens 2-4 months old, because they are easier to train. But in this case, you should remember the main thing - inquisitive tomboys need to devote a lot of time and there will be a lot of trouble with them at first. The baby will require a particularly sensitive and attentive attitude in the first days. But on the other hand, you will raise an animal that will get used to your rhythm of life and understanding of order.

There are fewer problems with older cats, but it is more difficult for them to adapt to new conditions. And the Siamese’s character has already been formed. Therefore, there are often cases when the animal and the new owner have not found a common language. And this is very sad.

Before making a choice, carefully watch your baby. He should be playful and curious. Excessive aggression towards brothers and sisters can reveal a nature that in the future will strive for leadership in the family. Raising such an animal will be extremely difficult. A weak and indecisive baby is also not the best choice. Congenital isolation can result in a non-contact nature. Having decided on the baby, take him in your arms, and if he behaves calmly and friendly, your choice is correct!

When choosing a kitten, evaluate not only the appearance, but also the habits

Buy kittens on the eve of the weekend so that you can give your baby enough time for normal adaptation.

Care and maintenance

Cats of this breed are often capricious not only about food, but also about their living conditions. And owners need to take the demands of their pets seriously, because careless treatment of them can lead to the ill health of cute purrs and even their death.

They should sleep in a place without drafts, and small kittens need a heating pad in a cool room. Bowls for water and food should not be located close to the cat's litter box. And you must remember to remove all poisonous plants from the room so that your pets do not get poisoned after chewing them.

The short hair of the Siamese does not imply any particular concern on the part of the owners. Representatives of the breed with rich fur are brushed weekly. But more often it is not necessary to do this, because the hair of these pussies has such a structure that it does not tangle and is not difficult to scratch.

Such cats are bathed with a high-quality foaming shampoo, and this procedure is necessary only once every six months. Daily brushing of teeth is very important, as is caring for the eyes, from which purulent discharge must be removed with damp cotton swabs. The ears are cleaned using the same swabs using hydrogen peroxide. Nails are trimmed twice a month. The ailments that most commonly affect Siamese include heart disease and asthma.

Hygiene procedures

Caring for little Siamese is surprisingly easy. Their short coat, devoid of even a hint of undercoat, looks great without any water treatments. It is enough to rub it with a special mitten, and from 4 months - with a soft brush.

Carefully monitor the condition of your pet's ears and eyes. Wipe them daily with a damp cotton pad. If you find the slightest sign of discharge, immediately show the kitten to a doctor. Any disease in children is much more severe than in adult animals, so the sooner treatment is started, the better.

Price

Over the past hundred years, graceful natives of Siam have spread throughout the world, and many varieties of the breed have been bred with very different characteristics. Therefore, it is often difficult to distinguish purebred cats from mudbloods. And precisely because of this, you should not purchase Siamese pussies from dubious markets. The likelihood of becoming a victim of manipulation by scammers is too high.

To purchase a kitten, you should only contact legal nurseries. But there the price of a Siamese cat is usually not cheap. The most affordable for the purses of the intended owners may be pet-class pets, which sometimes cost from 3 thousand rubles and slightly more.

Such kittens are usually taken into the home by people purely for the soul, without the desire to show off the purity of their breed, take their pet to exhibitions, or receive titles and prizes. But the price of a kitten of a higher breeding class already reaches 15 thousand rubles. At the same time, impeccable show-class examples, ready to become the pride of their owner, are valued at 25 thousand rubles and more.

Feeding

Experienced breeders recommend feeding this breed with premium balanced dry food without changing the brand.

  • When choosing food from natural products, you need to consult a veterinarian, who will advise what products and in what quantity to give in order to get a balanced and healthy food.
  • At the same time, we must remember that you need to feed the cat either natural products or dry ones, since with a mixed diet the pet can get urolithiasis.
  • Start feeding a small kitten six meals a day, and gradually, as they grow older, increase it to two meals a day.

Interesting Facts

  • The famous point color, which gives the Siamese a special originality, is considered a manifestation of acromelanism. This is a genetically determined pigmentation that appears only in certain areas of the body. This is due to the biological feature of the limbs, ears and tail of living creatures to be less supplied with blood, and, consequently, to heat up. The color of the Siamese's coat depends on the temperature, and therefore when it drops, its shades become darker.
  • There is an opinion that Siamese are angry, aggressive and morbidly vindictive. To some extent this is true. But still, these qualities are not characteristics of a pure breed. And the reason for such rumors that spread in Russia was the haphazard crossing of Siamese cats with outbred cats and unsuitable relatives, which took place at the dawn of their breeding in our country.
  • Siamese tails often look broken at the ends. Some attribute this to the characteristics of the breed, others to imperfections in selection and even genetic deviations. However, the ancient inhabitants of Siam had a different opinion. There was a beautiful legend that a certain princess of this country, wanting to swim, was forced to take off her jewelry every time. And to keep them safe, she entrusted them to her beloved cat, stringing the treasures on her long tail and tying it in a knot. This is why the descendants of this pussy sometimes end up with kinks at the ends of their tails.
  • The remarkable color of Siamese cats is a consequence of albinism. And it turns out that although this is a deviation, it is extremely remarkable. But the color of the eyes of such pussies is also considered a painful consequence of the lack of melanin, because this is also a sign of albinos. This congenital disorder also affects a cat's vision. It is assumed that Siamese do not see objects in volume, which is why they often suffer from strabismus. It appears from the cat’s desire, straining its eye muscles, to compensate for the shortcomings of its vision.
  • But still, Siamese pussies are very cute. Therefore, it is not surprising that they became the favorites of famous actors and actresses such as Faina Ranevskaya, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Glenda Farrell, Kim Novak, James Dean, Vivien Leigh, Olivia de Haviland. According to some reports, in the main residence of American presidents, the so-called Oval Office, in recent years at least three Siamese pussies have found refuge under the care of high-ranking owners.

Cat health

Siamese cats often have genetically determined developmental defects:

  • strabismus, impaired quality of vision;
  • amyloidosis – disruptions in protein metabolism;
  • bronchial asthma and calcivirosis;
  • heart defects;
  • knots, hooks and kinks at the end of the tail;
  • narrowing of the esophagus; adenocarcinoma; respiratory cancer.

It is important to pay attention to the health of your pet. It is imperative to vaccinate on time and periodically visit the veterinarian for preventive examinations.

Cats of this breed may develop an allergic reaction caused by cigarette smoke, aerosols, food, or insect bites. It is necessary to regularly carry out antiparasitic treatment of wool and deworming.

The female becomes sexually mature at the age of 1 year. She carries kittens for 64 days. If you do not plan to breed the animal, it is recommended to sterilize or castrate it after it becomes sexually mature.

When purchasing such a pet, you need to pay attention to the availability of documents - pedigree, veterinary passport, medical certificate of vaccinations. Pay attention to the kitten's habits. He should be playful, active and curious.

Other distinctive features

External signs and differences in temperament are clear and easily verifiable. There are other signs by which representatives of the breeds can be distinguished upon more detailed observation. Cats have different levels of sociability. Thais avoid conflicts with other animals and never bully smaller or weaker ones. If you offend a cat, he will simply ignore such an act.

When contacting children, Thais show not just love, but a certain maternal instinct and special care. When communicating with a child, a representative of the breed does not use teeth and claws. There are no cases with them when games escalate into attacks.

Siamese cats are indifferent to all strangers and animals. If you try to pet the animal at the wrong time, you may encounter a rather aggressive reaction. The cat treats its relatives well and friendly. It is difficult to predict behavior when a new tenant appears in the house due to jealousy.

The health of cats also differs. Thais live on average 12–18 years, and can sometimes live up to 28 years. Representatives of the breed are susceptible to diseases of the musculoskeletal system, including arthritis and joint dysplasia. Among the diseases of the genitourinary system there are cystitis, urocystitis and urolithiasis. Thais are not susceptible to diseases caused by bleeding disorders and inflammation of the inner eyelid.
