history of the company
The production of ready-made food for cats is concentrated in the vicinity of the city of Vorgorda. Aaron Hayman, who is the founder of the company, from a young age dreamed of producing high-quality products to feed his four-legged friends. At the beginning of the 20th century, the dream became a reality, and the first batch of ready-made food rolled off the assembly line. During the manufacturing process, exclusively local high quality products were used. That is why the food quickly gained popularity among consumers.
Choosing food is a responsible matter
Today, the choice of cat food is very diverse. Manufacturers are actively fighting for buyers and offering different foods for cats, taking into account the breed, character, age and diseases. When choosing food, it is important to follow a number of rules in order to get truly healthy food and not harm your pet.
The cat is a natural predator, so the basis of its diet should be meat. Lack of the required amount of protein can lead to deterioration of health and illness of the pet. High-quality food must contain a sufficient amount of meat to maintain the normal functioning of the animal.
Under natural conditions, a cat eats its prey entirely, along with the contents of its stomach, thus receiving the required amount of plant food. Therefore, in addition to meat, industrial feed should include vegetables and cereals. When purchasing ready-made food, you must first pay attention to the composition of the food.
When choosing industrial food, you need to take into account the presence of allergies in your cat. If you have any doubts about whether prepared food is suitable for your pet, you can consult your veterinarian.
Compound
Bozita food appeals not only to small kittens, but also to adult cats, which are quite picky about the food offered by the owner. In the manufacturing process, the company uses:
- Dehydrated chicken as a source of protein.
- Salmon, cod and haddock, which fill the cat’s body with protein and phosphorus.
- Corn gluten saturates the body with plant protein.
- Wheat flour and corn, which is unacceptable for super premium ready-made food.
- Bone fat. The animal fat mixture is extracted from the long bones of cows.
- Dried eggs containing a large amount of protein.
- Yeast, which replenishes the deficiency of B vitamins in the animal’s body, helps improve the condition of the skin and coat. This component may cause allergies in susceptible cats. You need to introduce food into your diet gradually, monitoring the health and well-being of your furry friend.
- Dry beet pulp, which is a source of fiber that helps normalize the digestive process.
- Dicalcium phosphate. The mineral component satisfies the baleen's need for phosphorus and calcium. To obtain the substance, a chemical method is used.
- Emulsifier potassium chloride, which helps obtain a homogeneous mass. Potassium chloride does not harm the pet's body.
- Dog-rose fruit.
Upon closer examination of the composition of Bozita, you can see that not all components are truly beneficial to the cat.
Bozita cat food: basic information
Bozita cat food is produced in Sweden, where, as you know, there are quite high requirements for the manufacture of this kind of product. “Bozita” belongs to the super premium class, it can be found in the form of dry food and canned food. The manufacturer of this product is Doggy AB, which also produces dog food, so be careful when choosing. You can mistakenly buy dog food with a similar name (Bozita Robur, Bozita Naturals, Bozita Nordic By Nature and others).
Despite the good reputation of the manufacturer and the high quality of Bozita food, the product has one unpleasant feature - incorrect translation of the product’s composition. Let's look at the example of the description of Sensitive Hair & Skin dry food. So, in the description of the composition on the product packaging in the Russian version, you can read that the food contains dry chicken meat. However, on the manufacturer’s website and in the English version of the description of the composition we see dreid chicken, which indicates the presence of dehydrated chicken in the food. The difference, it would seem, is small, but it still exists, because adding dehydrated chicken to the food implies the presence of not only chicken meat in the product, but also by-products, whereas the Russian description does not say the latter. The same applies to the translation of pork meal, which should sound like “pork flour” and not “pork meat meal”.
Unfortunately, the translation of the composition of Bozita food into Russian is incorrect (on the left is a photo of the composition from the packaging, on the right is data from the official website: above - from Russian, below - from English)
Pros and cons of this food
On the official website of the Russian Quality System you can find an extended analysis of Bozita feed. Among the advantages of this product highlighted by experts we see:
- the use of high-quality proven products in the process of preparing food, because all ingredients undergo strict state control;
- balanced amount of proteins, fats and carbohydrates;
- the food is safe - no flavorings, dyes or preservatives were used in its production;
- the food is enriched with a complex of vitamins and amino acids;
- The taste of the food does not deteriorate by the end of the shelf life.
Bozita food has been on the shelves of domestic stores for quite some time, so based on reviews from veterinarians and cat owners, it is already possible to highlight a number of pros and cons of using products from this brand. So, usually buyers highlight the following advantages of this food:
- a wide range of Bozita food - you can choose the right product for literally any pet;
- prevalence - the product can be found in many pet stores in literally any city in Russia.
Lantmannen DOGGY produces two types of Bozita cat food: dry and canned.
Among the negative aspects, experts identified the following:
- the presence of trace amounts of the pesticides permethrin and piperonyl butoxide;
- discrepancy between the actual set of micro/macroelements and the declared one;
- too much calcium.
And veterinarians and cat owners point out the following disadvantages:
- there are no foods that are suitable for sick cats, and some components of Bozita products can cause allergies in the animal;
- in the description of the composition of the food, the manufacturer prefers not to specify the preservatives included in the product, limiting itself to the statement about “high-energy components protected by antioxidants certified in the EU”;
- the high price of feed, which makes the product accessible not to every Russian;
- there are no treats or medicinal products in the food line of this manufacturer;
- The translation of the food composition is not entirely correct, which is why reading the Russian version of the food description does not give a complete understanding of what this product consists of.
Advantages and disadvantages
Bozita food, like any other product, has both advantages and disadvantages.
The main advantages include:
- a wide range of products that allows you to choose food for even the most picky four-legged gourmet;
- a large percentage of meat and fish ingredients in the composition;
- Possibility of purchasing food in any specialized store.
The disadvantages of Bozita include:
- presence of allergenic wheat and corn in the composition;
- lack of information on packaging regarding the antioxidants and preservatives used;
- high cost of production.
Pros:
- all ingredients undergo state control, which guarantees the absence of any hazardous substances in the feed,
- the composition contains fresh fish and meat, and not products of unknown origin, as well as protein, taurine, minerals and other useful components,
- do not contain dyes,
- great smell
- cats really like it
- a wide range of,
- acceptable cost.
It will be interesting:
- the best dry and wet cat food – rating;
- reviews from veterinarians about Proplan food;
- about Acana food.
Minuses:
- The food contains cornmeal, which can cause diarrhea in your pet. If you find out the opinion of veterinarians, based on reviews of Bozita cat food, you will notice that some believe that the food contains few additives that are preventive for urolithiasis
- some cats do not accept these foods, which results in vomiting and poor bowel movements. But this reaction of cats to food is most likely explained by the fact that Bozita is intended for healthy cats. There is a possibility that those cats for whom the food is not suitable are not healthy;
- The company does not produce medicinal food.
So, as you can see, Bozita is a pretty good food, but it is not suitable for cats that have health problems, so be careful.

Reviews of Bozita for kittens
Sofia: “I have been feeding my Scottish baby Bosita for kittens from the first days. After studying the reviews of veterinarians on the Internet, I chose this particular food and do not regret it. The baby is developing well, active and healthy. The stool is regular, without problems. The fur is thick and silky – a real plush toy.”
Cat food reviews
Rodion: “I like the line of wet food from the Bozita brand. My kitty doesn't really like dry diets. She prefers canned food. Bozita has a large selection of varied diets. I gave different compositions to try. The cat liked the wet food with elk meat the most. Of course, the cat hardly felt the exotic component, apparently it’s just a high-quality composition.”
Positive reviews

The cat is large, long-haired, sterilized, 4 years old. From time to time I try to give new foods, but we always come back to this. He eats well, his coat becomes more well-groomed, and his stool is normal. When switching to another food, severe dandruff begins, mats quickly form (he is thick and licks himself little). I usually order a couple of kilos with delivery. It takes a month or a month and a half. I have not tried other foods from this brand. Although a veterinarian once told me that this is never holistic, or even premium. I bought Bozita for my parents’ cats for sensitive digestion, and they were also pleased. Until the food starts to be packaged or produced in Russia, you can safely take it.

Our cat has become very picky and from wet food she only eats Bozita in sauce, or Shezir, but since Shezir is very expensive, she has to buy Bozita. Although of course they are two completely different foods in terms of quality. Bozita is a premium class, and Shezir is super premium. The cat eats bozita with pleasure even on the second and third days after opening the package. I tried so many foods, I didn’t eat anything, or I only ate when I opened the package, and on the second day I categorically didn’t eat what was left in the package and had to throw it away. There are no such problems with Bozita. I really like the packaging of the food, it’s convenient, the food can always be sealed, I think this is a big plus. There is a lot of sauce in this food, and since my cat is sterilized, this is what she needs, she drinks little water. All cats are different, so I don’t know if your cat will eat it or not, but mine really likes it, she doesn’t have a stupid mouth :) she doesn’t eat anything, so I assume that this food is of good quality.
Bozita Kitten with Chicken food rating: our conclusions
The food scores are calculated based on the scores of the first five ingredients. It turned out that in our rating, dry food Bozita Kitten with Chicken Grain Free scored 24 points out of 55 possible. Its disadvantages include the fusion of two chicken derivatives (dried meat and broth) together to bring this complex to place No. 1, the lack of data on the percentage of potatoes, the presence of vague components (bone fat, lignocellulose, antioxidants).
The pluses are the absence of grain here and the presence of 10% fresh salmon.
When comparing this Bozita dry diet with canned food of the same brand for cats, it is clearly clear that the dry product loses in terms of scores, and therefore in its composition.
Characteristics of Bozita food for kittens, lactating and pregnant cats
The text on the back of the label indicates that the pellets are small and that the food has a fairly high energy value. Below is a photo of life-size “heart” granules, which is quite convenient for buyers.
The calorie content of Bozita Kitten with Chicken Grain Free is 1686 kJ per 100 g of food. Since the manufacturer emphasizes on the package that the calorie content of the food is increased, for fun we compared this indicator with Bozita food for adult cats. And it turned out that the characteristics of food for kittens, lactating and pregnant cats differ very slightly from, say, Bozita food for adult cats with salmon (1631 kJ / 100 g of food), as well as from the diet with venison for sedentary cats (1561 kJ/100 g feed). But the food discussed in this review for kittens and cats during pregnancy and lactation is still somewhat closer in energy value to the Bozita dry diet for active cats Outdoor & Active (here 1706 kJ/100 g of food).
Of course, feeding standards and the needs of each specific cat should be taken into account. One way or another: we did not notice a pronounced difference in calorie content between this and other diets of the same line in this particular product.
